Tomahawk Forging Workshop with Simeon England -future dates to be announced

4 day workshop, $400 class fee.  Additional fee for tools and materials - participants will receive a set of specialized tooling to use in class and take home. 

Some basic blacksmithing experience is required to participate in this class.

Learn to make traditionally styled tomahawks with blacksmith artist Simeon England ! For years Simeon has carefully researched historical methods of tomahawk construction, and in this class he will share with you his resulting techniques for proper tomahawk forging including the forge welding of steel bits. 


Learn to make a hatchet, or KY style Tomahawk -  a style running around all over the frontier and back country in the 18th century. Forge welded behind and in front of the eye with a steel bit for the cutting edge.  Please note that you need some basic blacksmithing experience to register for Simeon's class.

​Simeon England is a full-time blacksmith who specializes in making authentic 18th century tomahawks. His extensive research of original tomahawks and the techniques of their construction has helped to bring his art to the forefront of contemporary work .

Simeon is an active living history participant and demonstrator at multiple historic sites including Martin's Station at Wilderness Road State Park in Virginia, David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Tennessee, Fort Loudon State Historic Park in Tennessee, and Cumberland Gap National Historic Park in Kentucky. Simeon also enjoys demonstrating and presenting at various events such as the annual Gunmaker's Fair in Kempton Pennsylvania.
