Hershel House

Hershel House was born on July 4, 1941 and grew up in the little river town of Woodbury, Kentucky where as a boy he played, hunted and fished on the Green River.

In 1956 he found an old longrifle in an old barn and has hunted and played with longrifles ever since. Hershel is a self-taught artisan and over the years has had the opportunity to study and to restore many fine old rifles. He began building longrifles full time in 1967 and continues to build them to this day.

Over the years Hershel has participated in many longrifle building, longknife forging and blacksmithing seminars. His work is prized by shooters and collectors alike.
